The past year has been very fruitful for Mark Buckley Ministries. I have had the opportunity to speak to many pastors and churches. I have been invited to help ministry boards and leaders get strengthened and established on stronger foundations.
I have been able to finish my book From Darkness into Light. It is being very well received from a diverse group of readers.
My Reflections newsletters, which are emailed to over 3000 individuals, are being posted on many of their Facebook accounts and reprinted and sent to the mailing lists of many recipients. My March #2 “Reflections” was reposted or emailed out by more people than any other “Reflections” I have written in over 40 years of writing newsletters. With the help of the First Baptist Church Foundation, we were able to save the app “Proverbs Daily” in 2019. I have currently hired Brandon Gurney to rebuild and relaunch the Twitter and Instagram accounts of “Proverbs Daily” which reach thousands of people. We were also able to use this ministry to help Ryan Romeo publish his Head in the Clouds book.
I have begun to work on my next book currently titled, Walking Through the Valley of the Shadow of Death. It will focus on dramatic and unforeseen trials I have gone through like a brain hemorrhage, my spiritual father’s moral failure, a sudden move to Phoenix, the death of our son Matthew, and my emotional breakdown in 1994. It will be focused on bringing life, hope and wise counsel to those going through great distress.
I’m currently doing Zoom calls each week with two men’s groups, as well as United Pastors of Arizona, a group of pastors who lead the largest churches in Arizona. We are collaborating together on how to best serve the pastors, churches and citizens of Arizona during the Covid-19 crisis and what we assume will be an economic crisis hitting our nation and state in the days ahead.
I continue to lead a Pastor’s in Covenant group of local pastors who meet each month for counsel, prayer and encouragement. I also serve Better Together, Grace Association and John 17, each organizations of leaders who cooperate to bring blessings to churches and leaders.
I’m caring for my wife Kristina and currently in quarantine while she awaits a heart transplant. Our quarantine may last for months. I get calls from pastors and leaders and we talk on the phone, Facetime, What’s App, Zoom and email from all over the nation as well as Ecuador, Italy, South Africa, Guatemala etc. I have as much productive ministry to do as ever right now.
Leaders need wisdom, counsel, prayer and encouragement more right now than at any time in years. I’m really thankful for the help that you and the First Baptist Church Foundation has given to me over the years to establish and enlarge this ministry. We will share Christ’s reward together.
