1. Counseling pastors and leaders in the challenging Covid-19 environment.
Church closures, shifting directives from political leaders, financial pressures and exhaustion have left many Christian leaders very weary. I try to help them navigate the challenges they are facing by providing them counseling, friendship, and encouragement so they can make wise decisions for their congregations and persevere through trials.
2. Writing about current issues and past experiences.
We send out over 4,000 “Reflections” to believers all over the world every month which reflect my insights into the current challenges facing believers.
I send out my book From Darkness into Light to believers all over the nation each week. I give free copies to people who share them with non-believers and friends who are seeking the Lord. I have given 50 copies to Church on the Street and have plans to provide free copies to the Phoenix Rescue Mission, Calvary Rehab, Celebrate Recovery, Teen Challenge, Crossroads, and other local organizations as soon as I am free to speak to those groups after Covid-19 recedes.
I am currently working on another book which will cover five major traumatic events in my life and show how God’s grace can restore believers when unexpected trials occur.
3. Taping sermons for churches.
I have taped sermons for the online services for Living Streams, Church on the Street, Hope Church, Church of the Open Door CA, Open Door Church CA and Beit Tikvah WA over the last few months.
4. Counseling for individuals.
I try to respond when anyone seeks my counsel and guidance. I occasionally get calls from mental patients, addicts, troubled spouses, and regular believers who need pastoral care. I do not turn people away even though my focus is on Christian leaders.
5. Zoom calls with pastors and leaders.
I participate in regular Zoom calls with large church pastors through United Pastors of Arizona, medium size church leaders through Grace Association, and ecumenical leaders through John 17. Each of these organizations exist to promote the health of Christian leaders through unity, encouragement, and accountability to the teachings of Christ.
6. Zoom calls with Living Streams members.
I participate in two weekly men’s groups, a biweekly home group, and the Direction Team, which guides Living Streams ministries, via Zoom.
7. Our ministry hosts the Proverbs Daily on Instagram.
We have hired Brandon Gurney to develop Proverbs Daily which serves thousands of believers on Instagram.
